The problem is that this is the same paper that published Gilad Sharon's odious "flatten Gaza" op-ed. That tarnishes the Post's credibility.

re: #1 Dark_Falcon

You should read any paper with a high degree of critical analysis.

The questions would be, do you believe the IDF has an International Law Division? And if you believe that it does, are you inclined to believe that Liron Libman is the head of that division? What might this division do, how might it work? What's its mission? Is there a place called Tel Aviv University? Did they have a conference recently about International Law? And so forth.

As I said in the long thread, best policy is simply to not read the editorials. If you go by your policy, then you can't believe the news in Ha'aretz, Ynet, Arutz Sheva (which doesn't always pass the critical reading test)--basically, you'd have no way of getting news from Israel.

But why stop at the Israeli papers? Can you trust Le Monde, Le Figaro? What about CNN? The St. Louis Post-Dispatch? All have published really objectionable editorials--they have to have done so. So where does that leave you?

Yeah - and the Bush administration ran torture policy through its lawyers and got their okay. (Think John Yoo.)

Color me unimpressed.

How can international law apply to Gaza since they are not a nation?

re: #4 Romantic Heretic

That's probably a question that is discussed quite a bit.
